Over the last couple of days I've had some time to practice as I'm on vacation. I've made quite some improvements even though I think it wasn't the practice itself but the continuity that made me make two things I wasn't able to do before.

The first is the milestone as I like to call it. In April 2014 I managed to get on it for the first time but since then haven't managet to get back down again being afraid of the static hop to rear and the drop after it. The funny thing is that I've always tried to get onto the stone with a Pedal Up and now I found out by accident that rolling onto it, is much nicer and easier.

The second is dropping down from heights higher than 1.20m. The wall in the video is about 1.75 and I have been practicing this pretty much every day, progressing a lot by taking heights step by step. The technique isn't very nice but it was more about overcoming the fear of this height rather than the actual impact on the ground, which is very rough. I think once the fear is wiped away, the technique that I know on lower heights, will also apply for higher ones.

Two videos w/o many words. Have made some improvements when it comes to Up To Fronts and am very happy with it. Gaps are better as well even though very hard to do sometimes (second video) :).

Hurt myself a bit but the bike was hurt more. Broke off both of my brake levers. :D So happy that I didn't buy the Avid Ultimate levers.

This is what I've done the last couple of weeks. I've gotten as far as this:

Probably not as high as one should jump when practicing this move* but I think moving up a pallet every other month or so will bring some results.

Right now I'm at a point where I still have to visualize the move before doing it so that the technique still isn't quite right. For example, I should lean more over the handle bars. I think it's like everything else in trials. Practice x1000.

Again, sidehops but of a different kind. I like it much more than the "real" sidehop.

Sidehops, sidehops sidehops... That's the only thing I can think of right now. :D I've tried to improve over the last couple of months but whenever I fell off the wall I left that technique out of my practices for quite some time. Now I will focus on this a bit more and force myself to do like my 2 1/2 year old son does. He falls, stands up and tries it again (no sidehop obviously).

So here's my status quo now. I still have to put more force into the pedal kick when going up and preload a lot more. The vertical I have, it's the technique that's needed to get up onto higher walls. Also, I'll need more flexibility for the tucking part up there so I will concentrate on that as well.

The wall in this video is the highest I can do for now but I can already see myself improving a lot if I manage to keep at it.

Again, not much time to ride lately but still made some progress... :)

Goal for this season is sidehopping to 6 - 6 1/2 pallets. I still have to get lower when preloading and the pedal kick just before taking off isn't really there...

Haven't been at this spot for ages and things that I couldn't do the last time I was there, seemed so easy today. I'm happy.

I couldn't be bothered to write much lately but I have been out practicing a couple of times since my last post. I seem to get better at gapping every day which is pretty cool and my sidehop performance slowly increases as well. :) I think those two things have many things in common so practicing the one improves the other as well.

Watched my last video again and again and talked to some guys over here. This is the result. I think I have improved a little at my gaps only by picturing myself doing it correctly. :D

Haven't written much lately as I was kinda lazy and haven't had time to ride either. Anywho... finally got a 26'' bike and it feels soooo good. I think now I can really progress, also because I won't be changing the setup every other week. :D

Last ride on the 24'' bike.

A huge problem I have when riding trials is overcoming my fear of certain heights even though I know that technique-wise it shouldn't be a problem. Last session I finally did this gap from one to another platform without thinking about falling and hurting myself. Turns out that it's rather easy...
